While formally known as CSX3009, this 427 Competition Cobra famously sponsored by Essex Wire also became known as “Ollie the Dragon” because it tended to shoot fire from its carburetor and out through the hood scoop.
Billed as one of the most successful Cobras of all time, CSX3009 racked up several victories on track that included three championship wins: The 1967 National USRRC Championship plus the 1973 and 1974 SCCA National Championships. (Off the track, the car also secured multiple Best of Show awards.)
Most notably driven by Ken Miles, Robert “Skip” Scott, Ed Lowther and Sam Feinstein, CSX3009 is accompanied by a comprehensive history file, a 1:5 scale model of the original car plus Ed Lowther’s original helmet, race suit and gloves from 1967.
