Steve McQueen regularly drove this Shelby 289 Cobra from 1965 to 1967. He enjoyed the experience so much that he continued driving it for several months after the new owner bought it.
This Shelby, CSX2161, retains its original body and engine. However, it received a repaint to its current colors after it was bought in 2003.
Other add-ons from that caretaker included a driver’s roll bar, 15x6.5 inch FIA Halibrand wheels, a hood scoop and chrome rear quick jacks.
