My good friend who assists tuning my cars, that I met at a car meet in 2009, told me to come get it. His pops needed it gone, it has been sitting, and he said just come get it and do the thing.

So, imma do the thing I do.

If you are a DSMer, you know ur looking at... 94 stamped, 95 model year, fully optioned TSI fwd, with an oem 6-bolt swap with a 14b turbski. What you can't see: hks 264/fp1 cams, act 2600 clutch, fuel lab AFPR, fic 750s, heat barrier intake manifold gasket (all installed by me a few years back).

The car has 120k on it. Not rotted. The thing cranks but the fuel pump is dead. I already ordered a 255 Wally for it. I have other parts ready. This will be a lil build. This is 2g #4 for me. Don't worry, I know what to do :)

So it was pretty neglected for the last few years. The sunroof started leaking I guess, and there was an inch of water in the front drivers side footwell. It was starting to mold spore on the seats and stuff.

We yanked it out of New Joisey, and brought it back to PA. I got started on cleaning. While diagnosing the fuel pump, I found the rodent stockpile and mess under the carpet and seats. I have yet to pull the seats out, that's this weekend. I did get the water out and I don't see any rust. The trunk area was filled with part and jacks and jugs and just tools and stuff. I cleaned that up and the spare area was pretty decent and dry. I blew off the engine bay and pressure washed the outside and got a LOT of dirt, tree leaves and crap out. The paint started shining up. It's single stage so I should be able to buff it some.

The ps skirt is broken. The DS mirror is also cracked and broken. I'm getting skirts today. Working on the rest.

The bumper and headlight situation is already figured out, and patiently waiting to get fitted up.....with a bumper I did up, sold, and recently recovered ;)

Ok here's the first day quick cleaned up pics, after a fresh pressure wash, shop vac, and leather wipe down:

I got sick for the last 10 days and I'm finally recovering.....i did some tinkering.

I fixed the pass door handle....arm was bent and the lil holder was also tq' d over. I added a zip tie to the metal tab to give it more down push, and worked the arm and now it has good solid tension and unlocks. Also repaired the ripped off wire for auto locks. First time for this job and it SUCKED lol.

I also cleaned up the rusty bolt holes for the bumper. It was zip tied on, poorly lol.

I also got the 2gb bumper and headlights on to see how I like the fitment. I'm up in the air. White makes it looks weird. Tbh I prefer the 2ga but his is an eclipse bumper and I also hate the chrome headlights, so 2gb is prolly gonna be the way.

I'm not sure which is which, but the white one makes it look like it's just so happy to be there.

Hot damn.  Ive had two myself. a 97 and 98 GST.  Never really got to enjoy driving them. Sold one before I could, and the other had trans issues.

Is that a passenger side airbag that isnt warped?

Nice find!

It's one thing that it's a free car, but it's even better that it's a cool free car.

Have fun and can't wait to see more.

In reply to bonylad :

YES!! Best airbag I've ever seen lol

Yeah the white bumper I need to have sprayed black. My brother has a guy for cheap. Once that's black, the susp lowers it and I get wheels on it, that will help the look. I'm narrowing wheels down to 2 right now....with Evo 8s as a possible if I need a holdover.

I started cleaning the engine bay area, but I need to get the new wally 255 in ASAP to get it running and moving around.

I 100000% endorse bringing back allllll of the fwd turbo cars back to life.  I wanted one of these so bad back in the day.

This is from a convo a few weeks ago

$200 a piece; not quite free but cheap enough I was glad I had plans. They were gone in 2 hours even with having to bring a chainsaw to get them out.

More work done. Got it all vacuumed out and CLP on any rusty bolts and brown areas. That will sit overnight. The rear wiper, motor, washer and lines were deleted because I don't use them and it's more junk back there. Nothing was destroyed, just removed and taped and tucked away. Rear spare also not going back in. Never used them anyways

I also painted the bumper block off caps so they are ready.

The front bumper went off for a quick color respray to the Crystal Black paint code. Hopefully will have that next week

The coilovers came in. They are basic BFOs from eBay. The Spyder I bought has their adjustable dampening ones and they are amazingly good, so this was a cheap setup to get it down quickly

Tire rack has the hypergrams and firehawks in 245/40r17x8 as a package. It's $1850 so that's gonna be a chunkkkkk of change. But I need that badly.

Finished up all the interior rust abatement. Got some small things to clean up and install tomorrow.

Carpet is going to get pressure washed and dyed black tomorrow, then installed.

Fuel pump install and suspension pre rock auto order assessment after that.
