WTB- 2ZZ Donor car

That would include:

   - Toyota Celica GT-S

   - Toyota Corolla T-Sport

   - Toyota Corolla XRS

   - Toyota Matrix XRS

   - Pontiac Vibe GT

It also includes the Lotus Elise and Lotus Exige, but  we’re not gonna find any Challenge  priced ones! Lol!

6 speed manual. 

I need the engine, transaxle, computer and harness. Mounts, brackets, and cables would be useful. Therefore, I’m looking for a complete car (wrecked is OK).  

Prefer a car in the Southeast (but might be willing to ship)

Challenge priced. Under $1K preferred.

I'd take you up on that, but that's an XR, not an XRS.  It's got the 1ZZ-FE engine, not the 2ZZ-GE.

This Vibe GT is nicer than you are looking for, but has been listed for a while so they might come down from the $2500. Possibly some swaps with the one you have?

Saw a GT-S in a u-pull it in Winter Garden, FL two weeks ago.  Engine looked mostly complete.

I currently have a low miles Matrix XRS with a bad motor and a high miles Celica GT-S that works other than a bad clutch. I plan to take out the Celica motor, rebuild it, and throw it in my Matrix. The Celica is rough, but workable and complete (soon, minus engine). Now, the good part is I would be happy to part with the remainder of the Celica for $300.  I know it is a bit far up here in CT. Just throwing it out there...

How soon are you pulling that engine?  

I can’t make a trip to CT, but I would be interested in the transaxle and everything for a manual swap, if you are willing to ship.

I am hoping to have the engine out soon. Are you looking to get an auto GTS? The thing about the Celica 6-sp is that it is a little different than the Matrix and other Corolla based cars, the cables are in the wrong spot. I may be able to ship, my work has a proper loading dock and I may be able to pallet everything up...

I have no interest in a Celica, but the autos come up cheap quite often. Figured I could convert one. Didn’t realize the cables were different. 

Keep me posted when you pull it. For now, I’m still looking.

I've read the transmissions were different. I have started the extraction this weekend and made good progress. Anyhow, I will post pics of both transmissions soon enough. :)

...and the Celica trans will actually work better  in the chassis I am using. 

(I never said I was building a Matrix/ Corolla)

Ah, very cool!!! I can't wait to see the random thing built. I love the 2zz. The Matrix is my 2nd one. I am not counting the Celica again, as I already owned it once before about 8 years go. :P
