Hey all, we're proud to announce that the new Wreck Racing car took its first steps last night. Its been a long two years of planning, club restructuring, and analysis, but we believe this is the best car we have done to date. We'll post a more comprehensive build thread later on, but for now here is a short teaser: http://www.flickr.com/photos/72112620@N00/8020450205/

PS: Can you guess the car and powertrain?

Come to the Challenge and find out! The car is definitely a work in progress, and this year is mostly for chassis developement. We'll be posting a build thread later on. Believe it or not, this car is even crazier than our S/C'd V8 Miata! We think so, at least

Well, it looks like a tube frame special, so I guess you could put any body on it. I'll second the Crosley Hotshot.

That's probably the roll cage you're seeing. We did modify the front frame rails for the suspension and engine swap, but it's definitely not tube-framed. Can't do that per the Challenge rules.

Any guesses on the engine?

Well, according to the entry list it's an MG Midget powered by... A new technology recently developed by Georgia Tech that harnesses the power of internet sarcasm to make roughly 500 HP.... Or a Nissan V6. Am I right?

Yeah, the model wasn't supposed to be listed...well, whatever. Yep, it's a Midget. So far no correct engine guesses, though!
