Based on the tool assortment, I was going to guess changing brake pads on a 2018 Ford Escape in upstate NY, but I don't see a torch or a dealer brochure for a 2022 Escape, so maybe you're just checking tire pressures on a 2018 Ford Escape in upstate NY.  In which case, experience says you will need a bigger hammer.

Welcome to Boston, random people on the internet! After all these years, I finally made it to Harvard. Or at least Harvard staff housing, where we have family we've been meaning to visit for a while now.

Happily, my tools made it through checked baggage unscathed. Still nervous about only bringing a few essentials, but what we're picking up doesn't have the largest trunk in the world....

Hmmm, I'm guessing it has something to do with next years' mid-engine theme for the Challenge.

Fiero?

based on the current market... the single roll of gorilla tape and two zip ties, and the Boston location... I don't think this is a challenge, or gambler, car.

my gut says "miata"... it being the answer and all... but, I don't see how it fits in with other stuff going on;  based on that, I'd guess CM fodder... but no idea what.

Jeez man, you're coming to Atlanta to help me fix my car?  I really do appreciate it as I intend to go out there today to get it done, but I have all the tools we'll need.

And now I can finally say I went to Harvard:

Wire, connectors and Harvard make me thing small British.  But, it's too cold to try driving a roadster out of Boston this time of year.

Given the winter time, it's got to be something relatively modern.

Being rust belt, it's gotta be something only driven summers.

For no good reason other than smallest trunk, I say MR2 Spyder

The Saab, the Capri, or the Jag?  Looking at Cambridge area CL cars right now.

Too late.  If they have flown up and stayed with family they've already bought the car.  Family up there has probably had it for a couple weeks minimum.

Overpreparing to drive a questionable used car home?

I would agree... but he seems a bit overconfident with only two zip-ties packed?

There's also a roll of duct tape so that's an acceptable number of zip ties

MR-S is a strong probability, as I don't think that a B6T powered capri would be on the radar, or would be worth traveling 600+ miles to get.

Also you shouldn't need any tools to get a Miata home, if the GRM assist list can't get a Miata down i95 then what value do we have?

I snapped this pic earlier today as I left my house on a similar trip! Different circumstances mean I only needed a ride out to the west end of the state, an overnight bag, aaa card and I never leave home without the amex. Very good chance I won't even need the cards or towing capability of the jeep.

I already have a turbo miata at home so I'm picking up a different Japanese two seater with much greater curb appeal and twice as many boost production units.
