Hey guys, I have a LS3 Crate Engine with the hot "ASA" style Camshaft in it.
My dad bought it new in 2014 from Pace Performance for our ASA Monte Carlo Stock Car, with the intention of running it in Trans Am TA2. Trans Am changed their ruleset & removed stock cars once enough dedicated TA2 cars were built, so we shelved the project. I've decided to get the car on track again, but with a LS1 meeting SCCA GTA rules versus the LS3, so it's gotta go.
New LS3's with the ASA cam are selling for $9500+, and aren't including flexplates or exhaust manifolds anymore. Mine has both of those, a case of Joe Gibbs Break In oil, plus the Speedway LS storage stands. Our LS3 has never been started or turned over, so the assembly lube from factory should still be in place. The building in the background of the pictures is where it's been all it's life, in dry storage & out of weather.
Original purchase price for us was $7,650. I listed it on FB Marketplace for $9k due to inflation & the cost of a new engine today (Used 90k base LS3's are around $7k now?!?), which went over like a lead balloon. Realistically I do think it's worth $9k, but if someone here on the forum has a really sweet project car that needs an engine I'll let it go for $8k, or possibly around purchase price.
