Group B Porsche 911 sells for $2 million at Broad Arrow Chattanooga

The first Broad Arrow auction in Chattanooga had $12 million dollars in sales and 82% of its lots sold. A couple of weeks ago we shared our top 10 cars to watch at this auction, and here’s how they fared.

[Broad Arrow Chattanooga Auction: 10 cars to watch]

1984 Porsche 911 SC RS Gruppe B “Evolutionsserie”
Estimate: $2,600,000-$3,500,000
Sold For: $2,000,000
This one actually sold after the lot did not meet its reserve. It’s a super unique 911, and the last Type 954 SC built by Porsche Motorsport for Group B rally competition.

2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition
Estimate: $1,200,000-$1,500,000
Sold For: Not sold
This is a rare opportunity to buy a rare edition of the Ford GT. That didn’t seem to motivate buyers enough to bid beyond the reserve price.

2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition
Estimated Value: $575,000-$675,000
Sold For: $593,500
The iconic Gulf colors and low mileage (3166 miles) must have hit the spot, as this Ford GT Heritage sold within its estimated range.

2020 Ferrari 488 Pista
Estimated Value: $500,000-$550,000
Sold For: $483,500
This came up just shy of the estimate, despite being track-ready and possessing 50 more horsepower than the standard version.

2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Tribute to Carrera RS Package
Estimated Value: $450,000-$550,000
Sold For: $445,000
Just one of 150 examples to honor the 1973 Porsche 11 Carrera RS 2.7, this lot came just a bit under the estimate.

1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S “Factory One-Off” Cabriolet by Porsche Exclusive
Estimated Value: $400,000-$500,000

Sold For: $401,000
It’s not often you find a one-off, special-request Porsche 911 on the market, especially it being the only Turbo-bodied, rear-drive Carrera S Cabriolet in existence. A buyer recognized that, purchasing it for right in the low end of the range of the estimate.

1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6
Estimate: $400,000-$450,000
Sold For: Not Sold
No one bit on this highly original 911 that marks the first year of the 3.6-liter engine in the Turbo.

2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo NASCAR
Estimate: $125,000-$175,000
Sold For: $67,200
While NASCAR stock cars continue to grow in popularity in historic racing, they also continue to sell for much lower than expected on the collector car market. Case in point, this car once driven by Jeff Gordon, a NASCAR Cup Series champion and hall of famer.

1970 Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1600 HF “Fanalone”
Estimate: $100,000-$120,000
Sold For: $79,520
Likewise, rally is experiencing a resurgence in interest and you can find historic rally cars often at many auctions in Europe. This one sold for less than its estimated value.

1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Stingray Convertible
Estimate: $90,000-$110,000
Sold For: $112,000
Are C3 Corvettes finally getting the attention they deserve? This unrestored survivor sold above its estimate, the only example among our 10 that achieved that feat.
