The Goddess: Interpretations of the iconic luxury mascot

How would you interpret The Goddess of Cadillac? That’s what Cadillac asked three artists to do in collaboration with Artnet for The Goddess Collection.

Cadillac first debuted The Goddess in 1930. Like many mascots, she has evolved over time, and now graces the front quarter panel of the marque’s new Celestiq EV.

Automotive design has always been rooted in the importance of an artistic vision to create an emotional response,” Bryan Nesbitt, executive director of Cadillac Design, said in a press release. “That’s what this series celebrates, as the iconic Cadillac Goddess was originally conceived nearly a century ago as an artful representation of the brand’s spirit and has been reintroduced on the all-new CELESTIQ ultra-luxury EV.”

Cadillac added, “The Goddess’ depiction of femininity evolved over time, becoming more contemporary and interpretive, but always a distinctive, powerful form.”

You can bid on the artwork (with the three images in this article from that collection) here. Bidding ends March 1.

All proceeds from The Goddess Collection auction will benefit Free Arts NYC, an organization that provides high-quality access to mentorship to more than 2000 children and teens annually.
